Connectors anchor

In order to offer the gretest flexibility, end boards come standard without a connector on them, though 2 loose connectors are included for each: a straight connector and a rigth angle connector.
End boards with a connector already soldered, of either type, and placed on either side, are available with quick turnaround.

  • Right angle connector
    • Adds the less thickness to the end boards than straight connectors
    • Depending on the orientation of the end boards (which is determined by which corner of the cell stack is B+), the connector is either on the outer face of the cell stack, or within the stack
      • If on the outer face, the connector may interfere with the outer wall of the battery case; check to make sure that is not the case
      • If on the inner face, the connector may interfere with the next cell board over; if so, simply use a short mid board, which will add clearance for the connector
    • While the connector fits within the 21 mm width of the cell board, it's mate doesn't, so make sure there is enough space between cell tabs to allow you to insert the mating connector
  • Straight connectors
    • Doesn't add anything to the width of the stack, making it ideal for cells with small distance between tabs
    • Regardless of the orientation of the end boards, connector may be mounted facing outward or inward
      • If facing outward, the connector or its mate may interfere with the outer wall of the battery case; check to make sure that is not the case
      • If facing inward, the connector may interfere with the next cell board over; if so, simply use a set of short mid boards, which will add clearance for the connector; however, the stak may be too small to accommodate the connector and its mate within its overall thickness, especially if both end boards use inward facing connectors and they are on the same axis
    • While the connector fits within the 21 mm width of the cell board, it's mate doesn't, so make sure there is enough space between cell tabs to allow you to insert the mating connector
  • Without connectors (cables to the BMS controller are soldered directly to the cell board)
    • Requires no extra space beyond the end cell boards
